Smart energy for a smarter future

At Corfu Energy Experts we believe that there isn’t a one size fits all answer to our growing energy demands. But what we do know is that renewable technology is crucial to reducing our dependence on expensive, unpredictable and polluting fossil fuel imports. Renewable energy will set us on the path to developing a low-carbon, self-sufficient society,  while saving our customers money.

At Corfu Energy Experts we  supply and install renewable solutions for domestic, commercial and agricultural projects. We offer a wide range of renewable products to help you save money, and reduce your carbon footprint.
  • A solar cell is made of a semi-conductor – silicon. A thin wafer of silicon is treated to form An Electric field, which is positive on one side and negative on the other; electrical conductors are attached to the positive and negative sides.

When light strikes the solar cell, electrons are knocked loose from the atoms, the
electrons Are captured in the form of an electrical current flowing through the conductors from positive to negative and this is what makes electricity.

A group of solar cells are electrically connected to each other and mounted in a frame is a
Solar panel. A group of panels is called an array. This is created in DC power, which the Inverter changes from DC to AC power so that it can be used.

  • Cut your electricity bills.  Sunlight is free, so once you’ve paid for the initial installation, your electricity costs will be reduced.

Cut your carbon footprint. Solar electricity is green renewable energy and doesn’t release any harmful carbon ioxide or other pollutants. A typical home solar PV system could save over a tonne of carbon dioxide per year, that’s more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime. Solar PV provides a stable long-term low maintenance  source of energy.

  • A common misconception is that only perfectly south facing roofs will deliver efficient and lucrative solar PV generation. When in reality, anything from due east to due west can be considered for an effective roof-mounted installation. Ideally we would look for a roof pitch between 0-45° in order to maximise benefits, but with clever design we can overcome most challenges. To maximise the benefits of an array, a roof-mounted system will need to match these criteria fairly closely. If you don’t have a suitable roof we can explore ground-mounted options.

Solar PV

Installing a Solar PV system is a great investment that will reduce your electricity bills, reduce your carbon emissions and will protect you from rising energy costs.

Our specialist team will discuss your requirements in detail and recommend the best products for your needs.

During the installation phase you will be looked after by one of our experienced Energy Experts who will act as your point of contact and will ensure that the installation runs smoothly with limited disruption.

A ground source heat pump takes low grade heat from the ground and turns it into useful heat for space heating and hot water.

  • A ground source heat pump takes low-grade heat from the ground and turns it into useful heat for space heating and hot water

  • The systems are efficient. Every unit of electricity you put into the system you receive between 2-4 units of heat. However they do required electricity to run, but they are greener than a commonly used fossil fuelled system. The systems work well in conjunction with under floor heating.

How they benefit you, ground source heat pumps could:

Lower your fuel bills, especially if you replace conventional electric heating
    Lower home carbon emissions,.

Depending on which fuel you are replacing they can heat the area as well as heat water, with minimal maintenance required.

  • Here are some key statements to consider:

Is the area around the building suitable for a ground loop: The ground needs to be suitable for digging a trench or a borehole and accessible to digging machinery.

Is the building well insulated? Ground source pumps work best when producing heat at a lower temperature than traditional boilers.  It is essential that your home is well insulated for the system to be effective.

  • This is possible, and we will work with you to identify the different ways you can install a heat pump system.

Air source heat pumps takes thermal energy from the ambient air and turns it into useful heat for space heating and hot water.

  • Air source heat pumps take thermal energy from the ambient air and turn it into useful heat for space heating and hot water

  • They are a very efficient system that will produce between 2-3 units of heat for every unit of electricity you input. Ultimately they remove your dependence on polluting, expensive fossil fuelled alternatives.

They  Do not require ground works apart from a plinth to sit the heat pump on. Air source heating systems work well in conjunction with under floor heating systems

  • Yes, air source heat pumps work well in retrofit situations.

Underfloor Heating

Since the year 2000 Corfu Energy Experts have been designing, supplying and installing under floor heating in all kinds of buildings from homes to commercial buildings.  The use of under floor heating has gone from niche to main market over the recent years.

We only use the best products with the best designs and with the best warranty on the market. The design and the control of the system is absolutely key to ensure that we minimize the energy that is used to heat the house or business, plus you get the beauty of easy to use controls with the advantage of remote control from iphone or android applications.

The system requires very little maintenance, and is 30% more efficient than traditional heating systems.

Under floor heating systems work well with renewable heat sources such as heat pumps and biomass boilers, as several heat sources can be connected to the under floor heating- dependant on the control system.

Under floor heating can be installed on the ground and first floor and under almost any floor covering.

Is my property suitable for under floor heating?

Under floor heating is most suited to new builds or conversions. We have fitted in retrofits but the upheaval means additional costs but you wont need radiators and will enjoy greater comfort.
